I Have Such a Handy Husband!

One of the *many* resolutions I have made this year, one is to be more organized! Wes is so awesome and is helping me organize our kitchen and built me a spice rack in our cabinets. I love it – I can see all of the spices, which hopefully stop me from buying the same spice several times. Like, how many containers of rubbed sage does a girl need? Apparently 4! :)

For Christmas, Wes built me shelves in the closet that is under our stairs. When we bought this home 3 years ago and my dream was to have a pantry – but no such luck. I had dreamed of converting the closest into my “morman pantry”. My friends and family call it this because I buy for a family of 10, but there is only the two of us! LOL While moving items into the new pantry – can you believe I found 6 bottles of Ketchup (Heinz of course!). Oh my gosh, I think it is safe to say that we will be good for several months if there was ever a food shortage! LOL.

Actually, buying for a “stock pile” is how I save a bunch of money on our grocery bill. I shop only when the items are on sale and use coupons of course! The idea is to stockpile when it is on sale, so when you need it – you don’t have to run out and buy the item for full price. I will share with you many of my bargain hunting *secrets* later!

I have to get back to cleaning up the mess that this organization project has caused! Enjoy the pics….

New Year….New Resolutions…First Blog….ever!

Well, here it is…our life on the web!

One of my *many* resolutions this year is to document our life and keep in touch with family and friends.  This space has been designed to share with you the W&L adventures, trips, daily quirks, craft, decorating and cooking projects and anything else that I decide to  blog (blab) about.  (Yes, this does mean that I will be downloading my photos!!)  I know…I know…seems a bit crazy to be taking on such a large project, but my hopes is that this website will serve as a timecapsule or diary of Wes and I as well as a way to express my thoughts and excerpts from our lives.

For those who don’t belive that I will be downloading my photos.  Please check out www.dykstrafamily.smugmug.com !  It is a work in progress… :)
